Folk medicine can be called as traditional medicine, natural medicine, alternative medicine, or indigenous medicine. Market Report Traditional herbal medicines are getting huge consideration in world health debates. In China, herbal medicine played a prominent role in the strategy to contain and treat SARS. 80% of African populations utilize some type of traditional herbal medicine. 

Traditional Medicine products in Japan posted current value growth of 1% in 2016 to achieve sales of JPY382 billion. While a herbal/traditional cough, cold and allergy (hay fever) remedies, herbal/traditional dietary supplements and herbal/traditional dermatological registered an increase in sales, all other categories posted a decline. Herbal/traditional dietary supplements remained the largest section, accounting for a 60% share of overall value sales. Traditional Medicinal products are projected to record a value CAGR of 1% at constant 2016 prices over the forecast period, with sales set to reach JPY392 billion in 2021. 

Also, with launching of better-developed policies and implementing focused action plans per the World Bank Report 1998, the expected growth is of about US$ 5 trillion by 2050 of world trade in medicinal plants and related products

Mohammad Bagher Rezaee is an Iranian scientist who works on Photochemistry or chemistry (Ag). And up to know did lot of research on cultivation, extraction, formulation, and produce products out of medicinal and Aromatic plants, designed pilot of essential oil extraction. He has published 6 Book in Persian and so many international and national papers. He is working as signoras' scientist in Research Institute Forests and Rangelands (RIFRI) -Tehran-IRAN. Rezaee is also the Chairman of Union Medicinal plants of Iran (UMPI) and deputy of Iranian medicinal plants society (IMPS). He got three national awards about selected and important medicinal plant as natural product or instead of synthetic medicine and biological uses

Dr. Santha Muller

dr.Santha Muller has completed her PhD on Medical immunology from MK University, India in 1996. After working as a post-doctoral scientist for treatment of viral diseases in USA, she worked in Fiji national University as the Director of Medical Research Center and Professor at the School of Health Sciences focusing on traditional medicines for viral diseases such as HIV, Dengue fever etc. Dr. Muller is keen on developing research network globally through her Research foundation for identifying the readily and locally available herbal and medicinal plants for the treatment for viral diseases and also the alarming NCDs such as diabetes, BP, CVDs and strokes. She has published several research papers in reputed journals and serving as an editorial board member for many national international journals.
